At the founding of our company we decided to only hire the best of the best no matter where in the world they are. And while an office is convenient for face to face interaction, it creates a great deal of overhead. Add in team member relocation costs, commuting costs, time lost sitting in traffic and talent that might not want, nor be able, to relocate, the answer was obvious. We had to establish a 100% remote team. Daily standup meetings and communication via MS Teams keeps everyone close and in the loop with what is going on.

However, we still believe face to face interaction has a place in remote work and is important to building camaraderie. Therefore, with our rapidly growing team, we thought it is time to start our annual corporate retreat. We made it happen on 11th & 12th November 2023 at the Hotel RIU – Ahungalla, Sri Lanka. A stunning location in the Indian Ocean.

With few exceptions, the retreat was attended by our entire team from multiple countries and was a perfect blend of professional development and relaxation. The event started with an insightful (and an interactive) conference on risk management and the company roadmap for 2024. Post-conference, a more informal setting session was held and this was the highlight for many, as it allowed everyone to unwind and interact on a personal level with team mates previously only know via video chat.

All in all, the corporate retreat was a resounding success that created memories and inspirations for everyone.

On a Side Note: By reducing our company overhead, we are able to pass those savings along to our clients with very competitive rates.
